micro dermabrasion––at home

jjones4...@aol.com (JJones4519)
hello: has anyone tried any of the micro dermabrasion kits at home? i'm
intrigued by the l'oreal ads, and do not really know of any others except
lancome (and are they owned by the same company?)
any comments would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I tried the L'Oreal one and saw no difference in my skin. At least it
didn't break me out :)
Yes I think Lancôme and L'Oreal are the same people.

Speaking of Lancome, has anyone tried the 'So Magic' line?

I was a bit disappointed in the L'Oreal Refinish the first two times I used
it, but then I got back to consistently using 2% BHA gel (Neutrogena's, a
cheaper and more convenient alternative to Paula's Choice) at night. I then
had really nice results with the Refinish (my skin looked a lot more
refined –– smaller pores –– and was very smooth). However, I don't think
I'm getting a result that's comparable to professional micro dermabrasion
(I'm not sure that I even want that, either).
A caveat: the Refinish packaging says that it shouldn't be used along w/
AHA or BHA products. I've never had any sensitivity to BHA, but I did skip
the BHA the day that I did a Refinish treatment. Others might need to avoid
the BHA for longer periods of time when using Refinish.

I've used the L'Oreal product 3 or 4 times now. I felt, rather than
saw, the difference the first time. Subsequent uses have still left
me feeling smoother than before using it. I've never had professional
microdermabrasion, but if it's harsher than this product then I don't
think I want to because this is really....sharp, or something. I have
never been able to use it for the full two minutes.
I haven't had ANY breakouts in the 2–3 weeks that I've had the
product; I don't know if that's luck (because I am prone to breakouts)
or if it's because the product is doing it's job.
I will probably purchase this product again. As I said, I've used it
3–4 times and there is still plenty of product left.

would highly recommend the dermabrasion machines from spa sciences (target)
or susan lucci's brand on qvc (youthful essence??? not sure of name0 and
also Dermanew (pricier than other two)
these make a HUGE difference
also if you want a dermabrasion like scrub type thing check out therapy
systems as well as another brand that escapes me but I will post about it
later

i tried this one and, although my face was smooth and soft, i didn't like the
"vibration" in my hand and arm; it felt kind of weird to me.

I've used the L'Oreal for about threee weeks now and like how smooth it
keeps my skin. The moisturiser that comes with it is particularly good. No
weird breakouts yet, just normal hormonal stuff.

I've seen the Susan Lucci info–mercial on tv and have been rather
intrigued. However, that auto–ship every 60 for the 'crystals' seems
a bit steep to me. I was in Sally Beauty Supply several weeks back
and they have the same type kit in their store for about $60. I think
I may try that particular system as all the creams, applicators, and
such are right there and I wouldn't have to pay that shipping every 60
days. The creams that are sold with this particular kit were quite
reasonable. If I do decide to spring for it, I'll post a report if
anyone is interested.
