And Kerry doesn't even have the dignity to concede the election. What a
whiny, pathetic loser. He is truly unfit for command.........the people
have decided. Bush won both the electoral college AND the popular vote.
Al Gore behaved like a gentleman. Kerry probably learned from Gore's
experience that it just doesn't pay to act like a gentleman when yer
dealing with a scumbag. Or, he decided that the future of the United
States is just too important to turn over to a proven failure, without
taking it all the way to the wall.
The ignorant, the greedy, and the superstitious have spoken. I am
ashamed to know that more than half of my countrymen fall into one (or
more) of those categories.
Here's a letter written by a friend of mine:
November 3, 2004
Dear Senator Kerry:
I would like to thank you for running for the office of President. I
know that it must have been difficult for you and your family to go
through this. This campaign was filthy with accusations against your
honor, your courage, your work ethic, and your service to the citizens
of the United States. You and your family have had the courage to
stand up and speak for the other half of the electorate and I am
deeply grateful.
As I reflect on the campaign, there are many things for which I was
proud but, unfortunately, many more for which I was appalled. I
remember my certainty that my fellow Americans would not be fooled by
a man that says all the right things but does none of them, by a man
who claims morality but does not act it, a man who would buy
reelection with the lives of 3,000 Americans, 1,100 American troops,
and 100,000 Iraqi civilians, a man who actively destroys our democracy
by weakening Congress, manipulating the Supreme Court, grabbing power
for the President, and allowing corporations to dictate policy.
I am proud that half of my fellow Americans looked behind the curtain
to see that there is a sad little man hiding back there, pretending to
be strong and wise. But I am more appalled that the other half is too
lazy to look behind the curtain, too lazy to seek answers on their
own, allowing themselves to be spoon fed whatever a few media
corporations decide they want them to know.
I worry because our country is still young. Our democracy is still in
the experimental stages and only many years will determine whether we
survive or succumb to our own arrogance. We have a global economy and
world wide media. Consequently, the problems of a few become the
problems of the many. No country can stand alone to face these world
wide problems. I believe that those countries that face these problems
together will become strong and those who try to go it alone become
irrelevant. Already the European Union has become more powerful
economically than the United States and China is not far behind. But
you know these things Senator Kerry. Those who limit themselves only
to the truth they are given don't know these things, although these
truths are there for all to see.
For the next four years I will pray, for I am a Christian too, that
our economic and moral decline is not imminent and that there will be
another courageous American who will step forward again to defeat
those who would destroy us. I thank you sir. You have my respect and
admiration.
