speaking of non buyers remorse

"Stevie" <privilegemagaz...@charter.net>
did you get that JCrew sweater? are you loving it? I am dropping it along
with a few other urls into my husband's email file for him to take a look
at.....
for some reason I am drawn to cashmere, a great tulip skirt from Danier (do
I get earth or leaf? someone please help!) and a great new handbag... of
which the one I want is too large for me but I need something smaller than
the doony & bourke nile bayou bags

Which Jcrew sweater? The cashmere one? I am curious about it and would
love a report.
Went to Ann Taylor last night to check out their cashmere V–necks, and
was completely unimpressed. For $119 the quality just wasn't there.
While it fit well, the cashmere was very very thin. I've bought better
cashmere for $39 at Target!!!
IMO, the BR boatneck cashmere is *much* better quality for that price
range.
I may wait until it goes on sale, because I did like the colors. And I
have a $25 gift card to use on a purchase later this month. I wouldn't
pay more than $40 for the Ann Taylor cashmere.

Macy's housebrand Charter Club has decent cashmere sweaters and they are
always on sale.

Let me second this. I live in Calif and I don't need three–ply, these are great.
I mistakenly washed mine in the washer, after a string of cuss words that
would earn me a scolding from dock workers, I dried it flat and was
surprised when it came out looking, feeling and smelling better than
after a dry cleaning! My only gripe: limited colors in the tee shirt
styles (that I have seen.)

There is something to be said about oversized accessories.
A friend of mine purchased this oversized bag in a great color. The
SA kept telling it was too big for her, blah, blah. She loved it, so
she bought the bag. Now every time she wears that bag everyone loves
how it looks and asks where she got it. Moral of the story is
sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind and go with your
instincts.

Sort of....I ordered the wide–V neck in heather orchid....I am trying
to coordinate with some knee–high fuschia suede stilleto pointy–toed
boots I got on sale from VS.com a few months ago. (Don't ask what
possessed me to purchase knee–high fuschia suede stilleto pointy–toed
boots, but they are surprisingly comfortable and promising.) I also
ordered from JCrew the rollneck sweater in that burnt–orange color.
And finally an ivory cashmere T–neck from Bluefly.

I gave the SO that url for the JCrew cashmere hoodie (hope you don't mind
that I want the same color)
and I love that orchid to fuschia idea. would be way cool with brown skirt
(softer than black) or even navy blue!

How do all of you make a determination as to which color will go with another
color?? I so hesitate to combine a few colors for fear of it not looking
right??? I see so many well–put–together dressed gals and I hesitate when it
comes to color combining. Any tips so that I can jump in and not be so
matchy–matchy in my dressing myself?? Yet still be age appropriate??(over 50)

I usually hold the two items together to see how they work and if it looks good
on, I leave it. I recently wore a pine green top, almost olive, with a
chocolate & cream herringbone skirt, which isn't normally something I would do
(I'd normally stick with cream or chocolate), and I put a chocolate camisole
under the top so the lace was peeking out at the bottom.
Lately, I've been experimenting with tweeds and florals and love the look. I
think you just need to think more creatively & have fun with it when thinking
of new color combinations; and if it doesn't look right to you, try and piece
it with something else. I do this for my mom all the time as she sometimes
doesn't realize the versatility of her clothes & how they can work together to
form new outfits. Have fun with it :)
hth!

part of it is coloring.. your coloring and what you have in the closet.
I would suggest thinking about colors that you like that could possibly work
together
using a neutral like grey, black, navy or brown and you can almost use ANY
color with them.. more than white, but think of bright pinks, lilacs,
orchids and if these colors that I am talking about.. like pink, lilac and
orchid are in roughly the same color family (*ie not warm pink/salmon and
cool orchid, but cool pinks, cool lilac, cool orchid or plum or purple) can
be put together with a neutral.
think of using light and dark hues of these color families so that they are
somewhat monochromatic.
also think about doing something like light blue with an beige sweater and
brown skirt.
orchid blouse with navy sweater or blazer and grey skirt/pants. plum or
purple with a pink or soft blue.
slate blue with charcoal or grey pants... and maybe a navy jacket?
also a spark of a classic print scarf like a paisley or nice floral pattern
would work to dress things up.
I would think that perhaps a tangerine or almost pumpkin color with a soft
peach and some grey or brown or even black pants would be pretty
it's hard to explain but it would be easier on the phone but think of paint
chips and how you take 2–3 colors to create a main color, secondary accent
and a hint color so that you have something to make it more interesting
;–)

I'm planning to send DH the url for a J Crew sweater today. I'm looking

Yeah, their cashmere this season is thin. I have a couple v–neck
cashmere sweaters from them last winter that are much thicker.
