New Crew Catalog

Ach! Trying very hard to resist the offerings in the J. Crew catalog that
arrived today. The "sherbet–y" colors of sweaters (cashmere and otherwise),
coats and "vintage" corduroy pants have me drooling. This is definitely
*not* cofarbing territory; I could spend hundreds without even trying. (I
mean, how are you supposed to pick between the cable sweaters in mango,
persimmon and pink?)

The cashmere peacoat is $1500, Stevie! (I do love it, btw. I adore a
classic peacoat––and I think "classic" implies navy blue, which is the color
of the cashmere coat in the catalog.) Not in this year's budget. For less
than that, I could buy the Andrew Marc shearling coat that I saw at the
outlet mall; it was around $1100 and absolutely fabulous.
