what to wear with skirts I bought at thrift store

Hi everyone! I'm not very creative when it comes to putting together
outfits that I don't purchase as a matched set, and wondered if some
of you who are more talented could help me out. I bought two nice
skirts at Salvation Army and am looking for something to wear with
them. One is a red plaid knee length pencil skirt (has black and
gold/tan in it) and the other is a grey wool skirt from J Crew that is
a few inches shorter than the red one, has a couple of wide pleats and
a very subtle, thin rust colored stripe going throught it. Any
thoughts? How about a black sweater and black boots with the red
skirt? Thanks for your help.

I love buying from the Salvation Army I always get the best deals and
some of the best clothes from there
