'Clean' fragrances – need suggestions

evamare...@aol.com (EvaMarenah)
I'm very disappointed with Philosophy's Pure Grace fragrance. I have to keep
re–applying it all day long. The fragrance doesn't seem to stay on me. Any
suggestions about other clean fragrances that I could try?
Thanks,
Marenah

Just out of curiosity, have you asked other people if they can sense your
scent? Is it possible that it is still there but you can't smell it after
awhile?

That's a good point and may explain why some people seem to overuse
their fragrances.

That is a good question. Any fragrance I've ever used has always stayed with
me. My dog is my best gauge, surprisingly. He likes to sniff my fragrance on my
wrists and comes back during the day to sniff again. With the Pure Grace he
doesn't seem to smell it. I sure don't smell it around me as my usual
fragrances are. I'll have to ask my husband. But I'd still like to know any
other 'clean' fragrances that the group likes.

I'm the last person to ask, since I am not a perfume person myself and
rarely wear it (maybe twice a year at most), however, I was in the dept
store with my girlfriend the other day and we sampled a few things. I
don't remember the name, but there was a perfume in a cute green bottle
that was shaped like an apple. The fragance is like apple, and very
clean and fresh to my picky nose. I could wear this one and not feel
ill. :–)

That must be the new DKNY, I thought it smelled fresh and nice too.

JLo is supposed to be a clean scent.

I agree that while Philosophy's Pure Grace is a very nice scent, it doesn't
last. I've had better luck with Clean's Ultimate scent. I wouldn't recommend
*any* of the other Clean scents, just the Ultimate. It's available at Sephora.

Try the Healing Garden's Green Tea. It's very fresh and clean, and seems to
linger a long time. Very inexpensive too!

gendarme & carriere are both nice.

Did you try Clean Provence? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it if
you did.

Yes, unfortunately I bought a bottle without testing first (ordered from
Sephora), and I was very disappointed in it. It's not offensive, just very
run–of–the–mill. I'm using it as a room fragrance in the bathroom, which is
what I do with fragrances I don't want to smell on myself all day. But as you
know, fragrance is a very individual thing. For me, Provence is a thumbs down.

How about Philosophy "Soap & Water?"

Another one to try is Thierry Mugler "Cologne", a green bottle. Very soapy and
clean. My own fave is the "Clean" and "Clean Sweet Layer", but they don't have
very good lasting power.

how about Davidoff's cool water or clinique's happy

I have a small sample of Clinique's Happy Heart that I'm really fond of and it
does smell quite clean to me...

You are not the only one who has Fragrances in the bathroom that I
either no longer like or they no longer like me LOL. I use them as
room fragrances as well LOL
