Rave: Talika Lipocils!

emiri...@aol.com (EMiriamD)
(OMG, Stevie, you were sooooooo right about this product!)
As some of you may already know, I've been having Serious Eyelash Problems over
the past couple of months. I'm convinced it's hormonal but who knows? All of
the troubles have been with my right eye, upper lashes. First, a little clump
seemed to disappear from the middle of the upper lid. Slowly those seemed to
return by themselves but about a month ago I saw that there were two smaller
missing clumps. Eeeeeeek! I finally broke down and bought the very spendy
Talika Lipocils at Sephora and all I can say is WOW! I've only been using it
for about three weeks but the MIA lashes have returned! And since I didn't
change anything else, not in my eyemakeup or in my nutrition, I can only assume
that the Talika did the job.
Very, very, very, very, very happy now.

Leilani, I have no idea how it works. It's a fat mascara tube that contains a
clear gel–liquid substance. You apply it 2x/day as you would mascara; you can
also put regular mascara over it, which is what I did.
It took about 2–3 weeks for me to notice that the missing lashes had grown back
(or simply returned home, I dunno).
Honestly, I think maybe it's really French magic (Talika is made in France).

Will they have a positive growth effect on the lashes that one already
has??!!??

So they say. I'm not sure I'm seeing that the rest of my lashes are getting
any longer, but maybe that will take more time. This is all still pretty new.
I'll keep using it for a few more weeks and will dutifully report back.
(BTW, since I'm only using it on my right upper lashes I'll definitely notice
any unexpected growth!)

I bought this for my mom. It did nothing for her. Then when I was home visting
I noticed her lashes look full and lush. She told me that she had been putting
on a gel that is made for black hair. I told her putting a product made for
hair probably isn't safe for the eye area. Well she gave me a tiny bottle and
I tried it.
Now my lashes are not brittle anymore. They look silky. I do not wear mascara
on a daily basis but when I do wear it now, WOW! I do not think anything has
grown back but I am not losing them as fast as I was.

ohhhh, I have to ask my mom. I know it has aloe and cocoanut oil in it. It's
not made for the eyelash area so I am leary about recommending it.

YAY EMD!! congrats. that's great news. I know that Talika works on broken
lashes, no lashes and thinning *(where did they go) lashes ( PB this is for
you)
it's an herbal blend that's proprietary that's really cool. I have been
using it for about 3 years. There is something for brows too and the
regular lash stuff can be used on brows too!
so glad that you are happy with it EMD!!

I also am one of the Talika ravers. I don't know how it works, but it does. I
have a quesiton for long time users –– how long do they last? I always end up
throwing mine out before I've used it all up because I think it's perhaps
turned, since they last a long time. Anyone know how long the lipocils are
supposed to last before they expire?
Thanks!

My theory is that it coats the lashes with something that is not water
soluble. When I use it, I notice a thickening of each lash. The coating
also seems to protect the lashes from breakage so, in the long run, you have
more *and* thicker lashes.
I only use this occasionally, usually after a bout with allergies or a cold,
when I tend to rub my eyes and, I suppose, break my lashes. I sometimes
sweep the brush through my brows as well, just for the hell of it. I will
probably buy another tube when (WHEN???) there's a Sephora friends & family

Well, when you ask if it is permanent, do you mean "forever"? I think the
stuff builds up on the lashes with repeated use and it may last as long as
the lash lasts (say that ten times fast!). But lashes are probably pretty
short–lived and new, unprotected lashes need to have the stuff applied, too.
So you have to keep using it to have a lasting effect.
