Pima cotton is an extra long staple (fiber length) cotton that is often
used in high end textiles – shirts, sheets, etc. It is also ginned in a
roller gin that may damage the fiber less than the traditional saw gin
used on upland cotton.
Note that there's no advantage to buying imported Pima in the US, as the
US is the world's primary producer of Pima cotton.

According to my Bed Bath and Beyond University days, Pima is
"genetically" just Egyptian cotton, but grown in the US. Supima is a
blend of Egyptian cotton and Pima cotton.

Sometimes called Supima, it's cotton that has very long yarns instead of
short yarns. It's softer and longer–wearing than shorter–yarn cotton.
Splendid and James Perse use a lot of Pima or Supima cotton in their tees.

Spam snipped. Pima cotton is a particular species of cotton, which
has a long staple that enables it to be knit into fabrics that are
finer and softer than most ordinary cottons.
