Removing Stain From Patent Leather

"Beatrice Chan" <beatrice.c...@worldnet.att.net>
Hi,
I have a brown, patent leather bag that has a black ink stain that melted
onto it from a plastic bag . How can this be removed? It is a sizeable
stain that I want removed.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Have you tried a white eraser? That removes some kinds of streaks. I
use one on my shoes for scuffs and residue and it works pretty well.
(I don't advise using a colored or rubber eraser, which might leave
colored residue: just one of those synthetic uncolored ones).
Also, is it actual leather, or just "patent" (eg, plastic?) Some kinds
of cleaning fluids might dissolve non–leather.

Hi there,
Have you tried hair spray? It works on leather suites and fabrics,
even pen marks.

It's patent leather.
Where can I get a white eraser? Would this be the same type of eraser you
would use with a pencil or is this for household cleaning?
does anybody know if i could use baking soda to rub the stain off? (i use
it regularly for cleaning other household items but i'm too scared to try it
on my bag.)
thanks,

It's the same kind I used as an art student: it's white, harder than
the rubber or gum kind and it doesn't leave marks (the one actually on
the end of the pencil does). Here is an example of what I mean:

(Never tried it, sorry. I am happy with the eraser method.)
Good luck with removing your stain!

(I forgot to add that you can probably get one of these erasers in
almost any store with office or art supplies.)
