The coat is totally perfect! Classic style in a totally "today" color.
People love pink! Wear it in good health.

I went to the mall yesterday wearing my new pink 3/4 coat from Ann
Taylor Loft (see http://tinyurl.com/63ztq ) and no less than *FIVE*
people stopped me to compliment my coat and ask where I got it!! Love
it when that happens. :)
The five included one woman who was in the middle of nagging her son
and stopped cold to compliment the color of my coat, a retail clerk
from Filene's, a clerk from BR, and a retail clerk from Ann Taylor,
which I thought was funny since it's an ATL coat. I was wearing the
coat with a brown scoop neck cotton sweater, Ralph Lauren jeans, black
midheel boots, and a leopard/suede purse.
I am really not a pink person (touches of pink okay, but not too much
because I look young as it is with my baby face and being only 5 feet;
I always think pastels make me look *too* babyish). But there's
something about this coat that must be working for me. The pink is an
unusual, pretty shade with blue undertones that flatters my skin tone.
I'm finding it is very versatile to dress up or down. I am so glad my
girlfriend talked me into purchasing it!
As for the shopping trip, I picked up the AT ruffle neck sweater in a
pretty medium blue, and had excellent luck at the Filene's oneday
sale, scoring two pairs of I.e. corduroy's, a pair of Calvin Klein
pants, and a cozy heathered grey vneck thick cotton sweater, all for
under $100. I thought it was going to be a lot more than that, and was
pleasantly surprised when the clerk told me my savings at the
register. (I am not good at calculating this stuff beforehand in my
head, and the sale signs did not make it all that clear to me which
items were on sale and which were not).
Now I am kicking myself for passing up this gorgeous CK emerald green
cashmere turtleneck (figured it was going to be too pricey even with
discounts, since the sticker said $195!!) and a cute olive green suede
jacket that fit nice and was very comfortable (talked myself out of it
because of what I *thought* was the price and also because I have a
lot of coats already). Had I known how steep the discounts at the
register were going to be, I might've been able to justify these items
too.
For all the petite AF'ers, if you haven't been to Filene's lately,
it's worth a trip. The one near me redid their petites section making
it more appealing, easier to find things, and adding CK and another
designer that escapes me now. The RL section was greatly expanded
too.
