spa recs in PA please

catmom <princess.san...@gmail.com>
I have never been to a spa anywhere, so all I know is I want some
pampering. My sister and I will probably have 2 to 3 days to spare and
I want to treat her to a few days.
I have no idea of geography but we'll both be coming from MD. If all
goes well, it will be in November and also next August.
Suggestions are most welcome...for a wonderful spa experience in PA

I've never been there, but I hear the Hershey Hotel has a wonderful spa. Google
the website and you will be amazed by all the yummy chocolate body treatments
available. Hershey isn't far from MD...should be an easy drive. Please report
back if you go there!

I second this. I have a friend back home in PA who did this and could not get
OVER how wonderful it was. I'm thinking of doing it next time we go back home
(next year for my 15 year reunion)

If you go to Philadelphia, Toppers is a great spa there. My friend
who lives in Jersey goes there frequently and I've been there too with
her. We had facials, massage, and mani–pedi. It was fantastic.

Toppers is a day spa in Philly and branches in the suburbs......I have been
there for massages and have never had anything to rave about....same goes for
the pedicures. There are much better day spas in Philly than Toppers.

I second the rec for the Hershey Hotel spa
http://www.spaathotelhershey.com – this is supposed to be their website,
but it just isn't coming up for me...
I would also recommend the Sewickley Spa – located in Sewickley (not too
far from Pittsburgh) or Ligonier, PA
http://www.sewickleyspa.com/
There's also Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa
http://www.nemacolin.com
On the South Side of Pittsburgh Tutta Bella opened not too long ago

I haven't been here yet, but my Mom and I have have gift certificates to
go. We just need to get off our behinds and actually make an appointment.
A girlfriend of mine mentioned wanting to try Spa Uptown (Pittsburgh)
but we haven't done it yet. So, this is not so much of a rec, just
wanted to let you know about them.

For the whole spa experience I probably wouldn't recommend that last
two. IMHO they both seem like nice places to stop in for a facial or
manicure (especailly Tutta Bell), but not for the whole spa experience.
Hope this helps some!

I had a two–night stay at the Hershey Hotel & Spa with spa treatments
as part of the package. It is wonderful. Yes, many of the treatments
revolve around chocolate: cocoa bean scrub, chocolate milk bath, etc.
In the lounge where you wait between treatments (designed like an
English library with fireplace and bookshelves), there are bowls and
bowls of Hershey kisses. Everything is very restful and luxurious.
Highly recommended.
