Hello again :–)

Chris Braun <braun_ch...@mindspring.com>
Hi everyone,
I don't know if anyone will remember me, but I used to post here and
sort of drifted away last spring. I keep missing you guys –– and keep
having fashion questions that I have no one to ask :–) –– so I decided
to jump back in.
A bit of an update: You may recall that I posted about having lost
quite a bit of weight. I started in the summer of 2002 at 262 lbs.
and size 22. When I last posted here I was at around 157 and was a
size 10/12. I know at the time I said that I wanted to lose a little
more weight but didn't really expect to get to a smaller size because
I'm large–boned. Well, as it turned out, I did lost a little more
weight –– a bit more than planned, actually –– I'm now about 138 lbs.
And it turns out that on me that's a size 6/8 –– to my continuing
astonishment :–). So anyway, of course I've kept buying more clothes.
And I've been reading more fashion magazines and branching out in my
fashion choices. (Though at my age –– 56 –– I'm not going for
belly–baring tops and such :–) .)
Though I'm now a size at which I want to remain, I'm still having
trouble convincing myself to go for quality rather than quantity.
This is a shift I'd really like to work toward. But I've become a
shopaholic, I'm afraid!
Anyway, I shall separately post a "what I wore today", and am looking
forward to joining in the group again.

Thanks :–). It really doesn't seem all that amazing, since it was so
gradual –– more just a matter of keeping on keeping on. But
unquestionably there's a dramatic difference from before to after.
I'm pleased :–).

It's one helluva accomplishment imho!! Gaining weight is easy; losing even a
few pounds can be very difficult.

Absolutely! I'm not as strong as I was when I was heavier, but of
course I can compete in a different weight class now. And I'm faster,
which is important for the Olympic lifts.
