stole/shawl with evening dress

"CV" <...@nospamadelphia.net>
Is it appropriate to wear a stole with a knee–length dress? What is the best
way to wrap the stole/shawl with such a dress?
thanks!

I'm not the shawl maven (I have a bunch of pashminas that I lend to friends
but rarely use myself), but I think that the pashmina craze of a few years
ago made it acceptable to wear/carry all sorts of wraps, shawls, capes, etc.
with a huge variety of clothes. If you are comfortable with the
stole/shawl, go for it. Personally, I feel they totally overpower my small
frame, but if I were anything close to statuesque, I would probably be
dripping with drapery all the time.

I recommend draping it over your shoulers and closing it with a
pretty, sparkly pin. I think you can wear a wrap with any kind of
outfit, and it allows WAY more options for dresses to events where
it's colder.
Hope you look great!
