Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Rave ATTN: Anne

"Jamie" <zuschlag–sequ...@tds.net>
The above in Classic Ivory. This is what I've been using for about a week
now and I have to say that I'm loving it.
Before this I'd been using Bare Minerals which was looking just o.k. on me
but the ease of application was worth the tradeoff in optimum looks. I'd
been reading Anne's comments on BE/Minerals and thinking that my face was
pretty much looking the same –
"From everything I've read, everybody who has tried Bare Minerals loves
it. My daughter swears by it – yet I swear at it. For the life of me,
no matter how I apply it – light, normal, lots of buff, not... when I
smile I find my fine lines are accentuated – my face looks dry and
covered with lines up around the apples of my cheeks and by my eyes.
We're talking middle–aged, but not old, skin. And the lady at the
Perricone counter is older than me, and adores Bare Minerals (and it
looks great on her).
Am I a moron? A Bare Minerals throw–back? Do some people just have
that one kind of skin which doesn't work well with Bare Minerals?"
My skin is normal and even down here in the humidity (near Jacksonville,
FL–still mid–90's), I don't need the powder on my skin. I certainly will
not need it in the winter.
Back to the Dream Matte Mousse. This stuff is so lightweight that it is
wonderful. I had been trying to reserve judgment to give it plenty of time
to affect my skin in any way that it would before I was sucked in. I came
to the conclusion today that it gives the somewhat sheer coverage that I
need to cover redness but still lets some of my freckles show through. I
like that. Actually I'm not sure that it can be applied much heavier for
more coverage but I'm not heavy–handed. As I mentioned in another post, I
bought it in my usual color and probably should have gotten it one shade
lighter. But I've been able to make do quite nicely with the shade that I
have, blending it out well and, as I said before, not being heavy–handed
with it. It makes me look finished, totally tones down my hormonal redness
(post–pregnancy), and doesn't stifle me during the hot summer days. Even
after wearing it all day, I'm not seeing the redness until after washing my
face at night. I'm really liking this stuff and I'll probably go ahead and
use the couple of coupons that I have on it before they expire. And I never
let a coupon force me to purchase. Until now, CG Aquasmooth has been my HG
drugstore foundation but offers a fuller coverage that I like sometimes when
I go out or when I'd like to look more made up. Maybelline Dream Matte
Mousse will be my daytime foundation until I find something fantastically
better!
Anne, I hope this helps you.
