Hair dye help???? any beauticians out there?

christinather...@sbcglobal.net (Christina)
I have some weird hair dye issue, I have naturally medium brown hair,
that in the past I have bleached and dyed with no issues. The last
time I lightened it was last year sometime, and I went back to brown
shortly after. About a month ago, I wanted to lighten it again, and it
just won't. I have tried many brands of permanent dye, as well as the
actual toning bleach powder....NOTHING HAPPENS! On the bright side,
though my hair color does not change, my hair does not seem to be
suffering any damage from these failed dyeing attempts. Im probably
going to go to a salon, but Im afraid they will just assume I am crazy
(I have done my hair probably 50 times with for the most part great
success until now) and it wont work, or worse they will fry my hair.
Any ideas whats up with this? Salon reccomendations where they will be
nice to me in The SF bay area (I live in Santa Cruz)? A hairdye I can
use at home that will work? Thanks so much :–)

as a general rule, colour will not lift colour. some of the mfrs
are coming out with colour that actually does lift colour, but
you have to go to a salon for that; it's not something you can
just buy at Sally (AFAIK [1]) – i don't buy colour at Sally.

it may not feel like it, but you are overprocessing your hair.
eventually it will do one of three things: a) melt, 2) break off
or, C) become frizzy beyond belief.

you should either try a colour remover, or bleach; or better yet,
LITHA [2] and let it rest for a while. :)
