What came in the *mail* today?

KMS <badgerda...@puttyhead.combustible>
Actually FedEx: an order from LuckyScent.com. I had ordered a full–sized bottle
of Ebba Miss Danielle (hi, could the packaging on these Ebba fragrances *be* any
cuter?) and a sample of Les Nereides Imperial Opoponax (which smells amazing in
the vial – a basenote junkie's wet dream). The fine folks at LuckyScent threw in
a bunch more samples:
– Les Nereides Oriental Lumpur (this smells like fantastic Indian food)
– Les Nereides Fleur Poudree de Musc
– Les Nereides Musc de Java
– Florascent Mimosa
– Florascent Tango
Stellar service, as always!

A baby sling I ordered on eBay from a woman who handmakes them. It's
not directly fashion–related but it is a beautiful sling so I figured
I'd mention it – especially since it covers up the top–half of
anything I'm wearing when I use it LOL. For that reason, I figured I
might as well get one that's really pretty. It's tan linen with
little tan dragonflies embroidered all over it. Because the
embroidery is the same colour as the linen, it's very subtle.
Gorgeous and unlike any other sling I've seen anywhere.

While we were gone a pal sent me a bunch of junk/broken costume jewelry she
had picked up at a yard sale (actually, inside a box she bought for 50 cents

Mostly plastic crappe – but one necklace of jet beads and a black mourning

One is silvertone with blues, purples & green crystals and the other is a
goldtone with orange, purples and lt. blue crystals. Nothing spectacular

some real on tweeds. At any rate, I'm satisfied and can't bring myself to

Very cute shoes – but what IS it with the white top stitching the last
few years? I have several items (shoes, purse, and my car seats!) that
have it – but I think it can really dress down an otherwise elegant
shoe. I think it's overused...

Agreed Nadya – topstiching so often cheapens the look. I usually avoid

Love it all (especially the Delman flats). Enquiring flower pot
shaped minds want to know about the fit of the C Vaile dress. And
how did the DVF wrap dress work for you?
TOK
Hey Miss K,
Sorry to take so long to reply. The DVF dress only showed up Wednesday.
The C Vaile dress has loads of fabric with good overlap/coverage of the
boobages. The fabric is very slinky and clingy, though, so the dress
pretty much demands perfect undergarments and a bloat–free day. Since
neither tends to be around just when I need them most, I will probably
send the dress back to NM.
The DVF dress is another matter altogether. It is cut quite close to the
body––the sleeves in particular have a high, tight '70s feel. Also,
there is simply not enough fabric overlap in the bodice. It is very
low–cut and I'd need to pin it shut to remain reliably decently clothed.
Also, I think my hourglass has a few too many minutes in the top and
bottom for me to wear leopard print––particularly silky low–cut leopard
print. A friend was visiting and I had her try it on. It looked
fantastic with her Italian coloring and 5' 4" 130 lb figure, so I gave
it to her.
