OT: My daughter got engaged today! (long)
My beloved Kate was asked for her hand in marriage today from a young man she's been close friends with since elementary school (she's 23)! It was a totally romantic setting and proposal (during a lovely creekside picnic at a local park), and she came

fashionable shoes for fallen arches
I've developed a painful condition called plantar facilitis-- basically fallen arches. The Easy Spirit shoes aren't helping very much. What brands do people wear if they have this condition? I'm looking for work and play shoes---don't wear heels, so

Eyebrow trimming
Another thing I'd like advice on. My eyebrows aren't all that bad, but I'd like to make them more defined and polished looking. There's nothing really to wax (I think) because it's not an issue of stray hairs or hairs growing underneath the natural bro

My natural lipcolor is on the dark side & mauvey. I would love to wear pink lipstick sometimes, but every time I buy pink, my natural color peaks through and it looks funny. Any suggestions? jen

Custom-fit jeans?
The Limited thread got me thinking and I am wondering if anyone here has tried out some of the manufacturers who offer custom-fit, made-to-order jeans, such as Lands' End? I believe Levi's was also doing this at one point but not sure if they still do.

OT: Distance Long Beach - Monterey?
Hi everyone! As some of you know, I'm going to Long Beach in June, and am working on an itinerary. We just got an exciting invitation to visit a cat breeder in Monterey - but I'm a little concerned that it's too far. Just how long a drive is it?

NE Lilly lovers, start your engines...

Trying to find a great bubble bath
I'm trying to find a new bubble bath. Hopefully, one that makes lots of bubbles and leaves a scent for the day. I've tried Bath and Body Works, Philosophy, L'Occitane, and Crabtree and Evelyn. The Philosophy products smell great in the bath, but the

Target carrying sz 15 in Jr
I saw something the other night at Target - I was looking thru the jean section and they had a lot of sz 15. I never remember seeing a lot of sz 15 in the Jr dept - I guess it is a sz 15/16. Usually it would seem Jr sizes only went up to sz 13s.

"Columbo" on Actor's Studio
I'm sure this was a rerun, but I'd never seen it before. Lipton interviewed Peter Falk, who seemed charming, shy and sounded as if he had breathing problems. Lipton asked a lot of Columbo questions, which was fun, and then asked a quick batch of du

Review of L'Oreal Shine Delice and Maybelline Wet Shine
I came across this today and thought it might be of interest to AF. It's from Street Cents, which is a Canadian TV program (on CBC). This review was in their web archives so it's a bit old but I found it interesting nonetheless. http://www.cbc.ca/s

pink and orange
About three winters ago, I discovered that I could wear a medium pink silk blouse with a tangerine sweater (along with a boring dark grey or dark brown pair of pants or skirt) and it would look interesting and bright without really being too garish. Im

A "fashionable" evening
Tonite after work I attended the "promenade" at my daughter's high school for the Senior prom. Got to see all the young ladies in their beautiful gowns. My daughter wore a beautiful aquamarine colored beaded (with some rhinestones also) strapless g
