tailoring ?

"Stevie" <privil...@charter1.net>
I have some suits that I need to either ditch or tailor them
the jackets have shoulder pads and they need tapering in the body. BOTH are
navy and one is wool and the other is a linen blend . What makes the linen
blend even harder is that the pants have double pleats that I hate.
Can pleated pants be changed to a flat front ? is it worth the hassle to
take them to a lower rise (did it with leather pants) and ditch the pleats
and then alter the jacket to remove the pads and taper the shoulders and
body?
What about a pair of lands end grey wool pants that are beautiful with
single pleats?
and the killer here. pinstripe Ralph Lauren that are reg waist with pleats
that I would wear more if they were lower cut and had not pleats..... I
have worn these ONCE bec I hate the pleats.
Thoughts? suggestions other than ebay and consignment store and donation>??
They also all need to be taken in a bit *(exc the rl pants) too

Do you have other items in your wardrobe right now that already approximate
the role these items would fill if they were tailored to your specs? (In
other words, would these items really be unique in your wardrobe?)
Unfortunately, only you can answer this question.
While I have spent a fair amount of time and a lot of money on tailoring of
certain gowns and a couple of truly unique vintage items, I don't go in for
major tailoring on items that can easily be replaced.
Also, while you despise pleats, there are probably a lot of people who adore
them and would be thrilled to find nice pleated pants on ebay.
