Re: Aack! Rash! BBW?

Sorry to hear that. But if this helps any – and it is rather sad –
my e–dad asked me if I needed anything at the grocery store and I
showed him my Vaseline Intensive Care Water Resistant lotion which is
just about out and he brought back Vaseline Renew & Protect
Moisturizing Lotion which had a Lip Therapy tube attached to it plus a
chance to win a car (which I didn't this time).
So, okay, I'm grateful but a bit weary of these types of
moisturizing lotions but don't think too much about it and then I
applied it to my hands. Ohhhhhh...... in about an hour *WOW* did it
itch and it was a very painful itch. My hands had a red rash on them
for about 16 hours *and* my legs even developed a similar itch.
Fortunately, I found a bottle of Jergens Aloe and Lanolin up in the
pantry my e–mother stopped using so I have enough lotion for the time
being and I dare not say anything to my e–dad lest I break his – and
my – heart.
You may want to try an OTC anti–itch cream or calamine lotion. Also
I found oatmeal baths to be helpful. Remember, however, that this
builds character so it may be very well worth it.

OTC hydrocortisone cream is usually good for minor topical
irritations.
IANAD, so YMMV.

After using BBW Skin Firming Body Treatment with Seaweed and Caffiene from
their new Benefits line, I have tiny red itchy bumps all over my legs and
arms.
<snip>
Haven't used anything to treat it for fear of further irritation. Any ideas?
Take some Benedryl, then take an Aveeno bath. Wash any towels, bath puffs,
bath cloths, bed linens, and clothing that had any contact with the product
that caused the reaction. Check the ingredients on the lotion before returning
it, anything unusual in there that you have never used before?
Hope you fel better soon, and don't scratch!

Sounds like contact dermatitis. Ouch. I agree with the Aveeno bath and the
OTC cortisone tx. I did not have much luck with the OTC, so I ended up
going to my doctor and getting something by Px.

I do not have 'sensitive' skin, try various skin (facial and body)
products
with abandon, and mixed success.
I have *never* had a reaction like this!
After using BBW Skin Firming Body Treatment with Seaweed and Caffiene from
their new Benefits line, I have tiny red itchy bumps all over my legs and
arms. I used the lotion for 3–4 days straight and after the fourth day
noticed the bumps. They itched like crazy (still do 3 days later) and when
I
scratch them they turn bright red.( I know, don't scratch, but it ItChes)
Haven't used anything to treat it for fear of further irritation. Any
ideas?
This is the only change in body products and I have to assume this is what
it's from. Of course, I plan to exchange the lotion, but have never had
any
reaction from any of their other products, or other firming lotions....?
Help?

I'd been using BBW stuff for years and then all of a sudden I got the
same rash you did. Now I'm so allergic to their stuff I can't even
use the body sprays or hand lotion without feeling a burning and
itching sensation.
awww...poop!
I also picked up the Salt Toning gel but haven't been able to try that yet.
They have such yummy things out, copies of other brands but still yummy and
in most cases, less expensive.
But for now it's Aveeno baths, Aveeno cream and Benadryl at night. (puts me
to sleep so can't take it during the day)
Still not sure what caused this. Tell me, how long did it take for your rash
to go away?
Thanks

If it is lasting that long, please go to see your doctor or dermatologist.
There is no reason to suffer.

I have not had this reaction with B&BW products, but have had the very
thing
with some Caswell–Massey products. For me, it took a couple of months to
completely stop.

I am a nurse and saw a doctor, who basically suggested a bunch of OTC products,
unless I wanted to take an oral steroid, which I declined.

Sorry, wasn't trying to sound bossy. I had it for about 2 weeks and was
going crazy. I can't imagine for a few months!
