Applying powder

missjoann...@aol.com (Miss Jo Anne CD)
Hello..I was wondering if anyone can give me some basic tips on applying
powder makeup?..I have never gotten the hang of this and always end up looking
powdery...Right now I use a concealer than Maybelline Express Makeup over that
(It`s like powder/liquid pre–blended in a tube)..I do ok with it but all the
photos I see of these beautiful women who are going the liquid then powder
route tell me I`m missing out on improving my look...Can anyone please give me
some Powder for Dummies advice or some product you think would be more user
friendly?..Thank you

Use a makeup sponge after applying to blend and remove the excess.

This is a tip I got from a MA after he applied powder to my face and I was
happy witht he results–
Take a Powder puff and press/roll it onto your skin
Then, using a big fluffy powder brush, brush/blend the powder. This gets rid
of the excess and blends at the same time.
I do this almost every day, and am quite happy with it! Hope this helps!

The world changed for me (loose–powder–wise) when I discovered this
tip in Way Bandy's book: dip a big fluffy brush (or bug puff) in the
powder, blow off the excess, pat gently on to the face. After the
brush/puff is clear of powder, use the brush/puff to BUFF the powder
onto your skin, e.g. in a circular motion. Sort of like polishing
your face with the powder, into circles. Keep going until all powder
is buffed & not visible. The repeated circular buffing (vs. merely
patting) seems to make all the difference.
