Does EL give out samples?

"." <k...@sympatico.ca>
Am in Canada. The assocaites at the EL counter says they do not give out
samples. Is this correct/
I want to actually try, not just from the counter jars, but at home before I
buy!

I think it depends more on the store than the counter.
Nordstrom will give samples of anything that they can put into one of
their flat, round sample containers.
They will even spray perfume into a vial for you if they don't have pre–
made samples.
Maybe it's just the Nordstrom that I go to, and others don't?

I don't know about EL, but if they aren't giving out samples they are missing
the boat. I get samples from Clinique and sometimes freebies (maybe it's just
my store?), but the sample of the Total Turnaround Cream made me buy a $30 jar.
Give out samples, people!!

Well I'm in Canada too and I think it may be the store you went to. I
haven't asked for a sample from EL in a long time, but I remember
getting an empty EL glass vial filled w/ foundation to try at the Bay.
I don't know if this has changed, but I know if I go to Shiseido at
the Bay they have even given me samples in plastic pill bottles. I
know Nordstroms is great for samples, but alas no Nordstroms in
Canada. My aunt goes to counters and if they say they don't give
samples, she DEMANDS them. It's pretty funny and in the end she gets
them too. I don't demand, but I've never had a problem getting a
sample. Sometimes I don't even ask and they've offered which always
makes me come back to that salesperson.

Usually have to ask... my mother–in–law to be gets one or two every time she
goes, especially if she's buying, but she always has to ask for them
(politely of course!)

Hi, I'm in Canada, too. I once asked at the EL counter at the Bay for a
sample, was told they don't have samples. Ok, I said, what if I brought
a tiny container with me? No, they don't give out samples; it's policy.
I haven't been back to an EL counter since. Sears may be different; if
they are, please let me know! TIA

I think a lot of it depends on the SA and the mood they're
in that day!

The gal at the Shiseido counter in Macy's would not give Jeanne and myself a
sample of a cleanser. Estee Lauder let us take a small amt., thankfully
Jeanne, being a smart shopper, carries a few tiny containers for such moments.
That is one big plus at Sephora...being able to get samples.
