Nooooooooooooooooooooo.
.. No more Colorstay Natural foundation, Colorstay nail polish, Rose and Nude
Velvet lipsticks, and the Moisturous line.
Time to stock up.
emiri...@aol.com (EMiriamD)
No more Colorstay Natural foundation,
NOOOOOOOOOO! I am gonna stock up today!
What the hell is wrong with Revlon, anyway? Why isn't it doing better,
considering that they have so many products that are wonderful, like the
Colorstay Stay Natural? Who is asleep at the switch within the corporation???
IMHO, all they need to do is bring back Color Lock and they'd be back in
business. They were so stoopid to discontinue this product, the very best e/s
base ever produced.

They've had two brow wax products––one with the wax on the side, one with it
mixed into the product like benefit's brow zings.
Great products. Both discontinued.

ACK! I will have to stock up on the Colorstay nailpolish, at least the
Sheer Camisole shade! It has spoiled me. Other polish chips in a couple of
days, but this lasts a week with no chips.

I saw that article in the NY Times. According to the report, Revlon
is pretty close in filing for Chapter 11.
Shame. Revlon was the first make–up I purchased.

Chapter 11 is not Chapter 7.
What you don't want is Chapter 7 (shutting down the business). Chapter
11 (reorganizing the business) may very well be a good thing for
everyone except the stockholders.

Geez, how about this for making more sales to save your drowning in debt
company? How about making cosmetics that look the same way they look in the
container? How about mascaras that really work rather than coming out with a
new one every month? I find Relvon to be the #1 culprit of this. Nothing
EVER looks on the way you see it.... a waste of $$.

It might be a very smart business move.
I doubt Revlon is going to go away.

Noooooooooooooooooo.
Ahahaha! But certainly there are one or two items they could get rid of? And
this reorganization might get them to keep the products that actually sell
instead of discontinuing them.
I have to wonder how these companies do their consumer research.

With my luck, Julie, it will be Colorstay Nailpolish and the Wet and Dry quads.
After they yanked my favorite brow makeup––and the only comparable product was
Benefit's $26. brow zings––I swore eternal vigilance.

It could be that some do, but...as I have learned, it doesn't matter what
the little people think, just what admin wants. Cynical, but in some cases
true.
I would hope that they would look at AF and I agree, Julie, not as spam,
just as grassroots research. But that would make sense. Hm.

Do you think the jinx would be averted if you suddenly decided you hated
both
of those products (I like the CS nail polish too, and a bunch of other
Revlon
products I guess I'm going to start pretending I don't like so they won't

I grow more and more amazed, as the world become more and more

rich
resources like alt.fashion. I don't mean to spam us or to pitch ideas to

I've been in front of Revlon countless times since 1996 –– about every
six months for one reason or another. Despite the new CEO and pals (all
from Coca–Cola), I have not seen any change in the entrenched corporate
culture (old guard fiefdoms rule!). I have heard a lot of lofty yet
empty promises (talk is cheap, promised R&D venture $ never
materializes) and have seen several young, forward thinking managers
leave for greener pastures while the old guard remains only to
perpetuate the same old same old. IMHO, Revlon's problems start with
exceptionally poor business process and an attitude of false
superiority, which snowballs into a paralyzing inability to change. My
first meeting with Revlon was the first time I encountered the "not
invented here syndrome." Before then, I thought it was a tired, old,
irrelevant cliche. Not so! It's alive and thriving at Revlon. If looks
could kill, I never would have made it out the door alive! I recall once
asking about the celebrity deals and was told they did get rid of them
at one point but all the industry insiders thought it was a bad move so
back they came, waving their big paychecks. Hmmm, are these the same
insiders who endorsed Revlon's ill–advised foray in to "cosmetic
vitamins" I wonder? As for Chapter 11, recall MacAndrews & Forbes is
wholly owned by Ronald O. Perelman, and I doubt Ron–O took a
suboridinated position which simply means, to hell with everyone else ––
shareholders, employees, suppliers, consumers –– just protect Ron's
money. What is odd to me is how Almay can make money but Revlon can't.
Why don't they follow Almay's process/model? All I can say now is
suppliers will just bypass Revlon all together and thank God I never
wrote any business with them 'cuz I'd be...@t outta luck! Rant over!

I think one item they could toss are the expensive celebrity
endorsements. I don't care if Halle Berry looks good with Revlon
polish on her nails, what I care about is how it goes on, how long it
lasts and the shades available to me.
Halle Berry would probably look good with refrigerator touch–up paint
on her nails. *I* am the one who needs help. =)
