Re: What I Bought Today

"ahmward" <nospam.ahmw...@yahoo.com>
I stopped by a Target early this morning and they have restocked the IM
suede skirts. I bought one
for the 19 year old. There were only two sizes available when I checked on
line yesterday so I am
glad to see that the stores are getting more merchandise. I also bought the
girls the IM straight black
dresses with the keyhole neckline and a blue Mossimo shirt for myself.
This IM stuff is going quickly. I was at the checkout line and decided to
look again at a different size
for the dresses. The only available previously was already gone.

Last night at 11 p.m., I discovered that my Mr. Coffee coffee maker, that I
bought last October, had bit the dust. Having no coffee in my system, I left
early this morning to track down a coffee maker that wouldn't die so young.
I finally ended up back at Walmart out of sheer frustration and bought a Black
and Decker VersaBrew. I'm not so impressed, but it was only $18, so if I kill it
within 6 months, I'm not going to care.
I also bought:
* 2 Garanimals dresses for the 3 yo, one pink and one red floral. I'd bought her
a purple one the other day and these are *great* for little messy kids because
they're under $3. She can play outside in them, she can drop food all over them,
she can cut a hole in them with scissors and I'm not going to get upset.
* Sandals for the small person, since her play sandals are totally beat up and
we haven't hit the point yet that she wants to wear sneakers again.
* a Faded Glory tee, tan with red stuff on it (I have a couple of these in
different colors/patterns and they're pretty cool, and were extremely cheap!)
* a White Stag sleeveless pink sweater

Whatever happened to your Cuisinart Grind and Brew like the one I still
have? I remember recommending that to you *years* ago. We were still
stationed in California cos I remember we got ours at Robinsons–May. We're
on our 2nd one now (I dropped it, a piece broke off, they sent us a brand
new one).

Audrey,
We were on the same wave length today.
I tried on the black keyhole dress and it was very flattering, but
unfortunately, it was very staticy. Like it just stuck to me all over. I'm
not sure what I'd have to wear to eliminate the cling, so I just nixxed it.
It's very slimming with the vertical stitching.
I also tried on the red corduroy shirtdress, which was horrible – as the
natural waistline hit me around the lower boob level, lol. It is very
short–waisted.
I purchased the pink corduroy blazer for dd, who has wanted it since she saw
the first mention in a mag last summer.
I picked up new sheets & a chambray dust ruffle for the lower level guest
suite, where my nephew will be living temporarily.

That was the one that broke last October! It just up and quit working one day,
just like the Mr. Coffee did. We got just under 3 years out of it, but the
spouse complained about spending that much on a coffee maker. Since I live for
coffee, no price is too much!
I was really tempted to go back to the Cuisinart since they now have that model
that's stainless, but I really don't need the grinder (I have a separate one),
so it seems like overkill. If this stupid cheapy model dies within the next 6
months, I *will* put my foot down and buy a Cuisinart! =)
Of course, with my luck, the damn thing will last like 7 years.

I went to Target today to get a birthday present for my son's best friend
and of course, I had to check out the IM stuff. I see what people mean
about the bright shirts, although I thought they were nice looking and
good quality for the price. The pencil skirts were in stock in my size
but I couldn't figure out what I'd wear with them. I tried on the beige
suede jacket; it was pretty nice, especially considering the price, but
then I figured the light color and the sueded texture would make it
perishable and expensive to clean. Anyway, I don't wear a whole lot
of beige, so I found myself puzzling over what I'd wear with it.
So I didn't buy any Isaac. However, I did buy:
black leather Merona zip front short jacket with princess seams and a
short, stand up collar: $89.99
Juicy knock off black velour Mossimo zip front hoodie and matching pants,
$19.99 and $16.99
black French terry drawstring yoga pants with pink serging along the waist
and down the outside of each leg: on clearance for $6.24
A new bottle of OoO Regenerist Serum (my third) this time the unscented
version, for $17.94.

I too had a Target day (last week) and examined every IM thing I could find.
as did i! i may get the denim jacket with pink lining if i can find it in my
size. none of the shoes called my name, but i did get a pair of brown boots
from exhilaration, i think, in the children's dept. they're sorta chunky and
will be great with jeans, and for 16.99, i couldn't leave them there! also got
2 ceiling fans with light fixtures for 10.45 each!!

huge on you, Michele! It was amazingly oversized on me. In general, the IM

I bought the black sleeveless keyhole–neckline shift/dress too although it's

Well, this past weekend, I shopped a lot on Saturday and bought the
following:
TJMaxx
1) soap dispenser for kitchen
It is blue with sea shells encased in clear plastic and looks really pretty
in my kitchen with yellow walls and white cabinetry and countertops.
2) four pairs of Hanes Silk Reflection pantyhose in Jet
LLBean
3) french terry sweat pants in Black
I had bought the zip–up hoodie a few weeks earlier but not the pants since
they were out of stock. It is really hard to find work–out gear in petite
sizes.
4) pima cotton crewneck t–shirt in White
I want to buy some cashmere sweaters this winter and I want to buy some
t–shirts as layering pieces just in case the sweaters scrath.
Lord & Taylor
5) Jones New York Sport capri pants in blue/green/yellow vertical stripes
This is my second pair of capris this summer. I guess as far as whiplash
goes, this is it! They were marked down from around $60 to $32 and then I
got another 50% off that so these were a really good deal.
Sur La Table
6) glass bottle for salad dressing
Eileen Fisher
7) viscose/linen shell in White
8) '' jacket in White
The Eileen Fisher store had their summer sale going on with all summer items
marked down 25% off and so I bought this shell and matching jacket in their
petite sizes. One of the buttons on the jacket was broken so the SA reduced
the price another $25. Yeah!

Yes, it is shorter, Laurie. Cary's description is perfect. There is a
small stand–up collar, about a half an inch tall, and no pockets (the
only design flaw.) I modelled mine for TSMIM this morning and it
received the official TSMIM two thumbs up.

Just a bit of additional info – I think the smallest size was a Small
– I tried on the Medium and Large – the medium fit but was a bit tight
around the hips, so I went with the large – I usually wear a medium,
so I think it's cut just a tad on the small side.
It is really a great jacket – I bought a light blue suede jacket at
Tarjay last year, which I've been thrilled with, so didn't hesitate to
get this one. The leather is very soft – and the only drawback is the
fact that there are no pockets – but it was cute enough to buy anyway!
