2003 – 2004 Fashion Color Chart

joel <re...@optonline.net>
Boy it has been a weird couple of days –– brought my Mac in to have it
upgraded and they ended up wiping out my hard drive and all of my news
and mail settings so I'm slow in posting this. Also went away to
Saratoga to follow the horses. But my horses mostly followed other
horses (the one's Mary bet on).
Aaaargh
Anyway some of you who have been here a long time will remember that a
few tyears back I got permission to reproduce the Celanese color charts
describing the colors that the designers would be working with a year
ahead.
Someone was kind enough to host it for us. Who? Help? Are you still
here? God I'm awful with names.
Anyway I've gotten a little older and slicker –– so here's the 2003/04
color chart. We've included in the fashiontrac newsletter. So for those
of you who didn't sunscribe (you still can).

Losing a hard drive is NO fun... hopefully you had a backup of any
other important stuff.

You're a handy guy to have around, Joel.
FWIW, I have been buying things in ice blue, so good to know this will
continue on into 2004. I have also been seeing lots of paisley, but I am
not sure I like it or possibly it is growing on me. I saw a cute paisley
Ralph Lauren Black Label coat on the Neiman's website I am thinking of
getting. I seem to be going out of my Donna Karan phase and am entering
more of a Ralph Lauren phase.
I also saw a gorgeous pair of Prada crocodile gloves in Town & Country that
I would love to have. It seems your forecast is right on.

Joel, thank you so much for posting this. I really enjoyed looking at the
colors and fabric swatches. It looks as if things may be looking antiqued
in upcoming fashion stories.

I had the advantage of seeing Jim's show at Celanese––tons of slides of
cut
and color and how the various colors and textiles will work together.
Lucky you.
Anyway in the next newsletter we'll focus on the cuts and the overall
look.
Maybe in a few weeks. But here's the skinny. Minimalism is over (get over
it).
If you need one thing for fall –– it's a sexy, swingy, flirty skirt.
But, my friend Elaine who also works on the newsletter and saw the show
said
something pretty incisive: "It's a great look if tou're 17 and 101
poiunds."
It's nnot going to work for everyone.
Also hip huggers are over. It appears that there's a return to real
trousers
–– the sort of Kate Hepburn look. Those don't work on everyone either.
Hipsters are still in the stores, but I'd be wary about making a long term
investment on anything pricey.
joel
This is very nice of you to provide all of this information to us. I really
appreciate it.

I love ice blue paired with chocolate brown or charcoal, great color
combos.

Blech. I like full straight leg pants, but the waistline has to be at least
an inch beneath my bellybutton.
