What I bought on my vacation

"ahmward" <nospam.ahmw...@yahoo.com>
I've spent the past two weeks on the central coast of California enjoying
beautiful unspoiled coastal land, great seafood,
walks on the beaches and great quality time with my husband and children.
There is always time to shop and shopping is
part of all of our vacations.
Bath and beauty products:
Three Pacifica soaps...Mexican cocoa, minted grapefruit and Brazilian mango
grapefruit I buy these at an art gallery.
The scents are wonderful and the Brazilian mango grapefruit is a mild
exfoliator.
Bath and Body Works coconut lime verbena bubble bath and Benefitsskin
renewal anti–aging body lotion in the same
scent. I had the $5 coupon for the Benefits product. Now that I am home
for a few days I will test it against the
$90 product by Decleor that is supposed to have the same results. I have
been using the Decleor product all summer
and it feels great but I would not buy it again.
Honey lavender soap purchased at a farmers' market. I have bought several
lavender products on this trip including
lavender tea and vinegar.
Lothantique linden fragrance and Archipelago yuzu bath salts. As you
probably know, linden and yuzu (grapefruit) are
two of my favorite fragrances.
The children bought me a rose scented body lotion from a botanical store in
Cambria. The scent is fantastic.
Francesca Guerrera pearl shimmer tint to use beneath my eyes and two
shadows, Firenze pewter and bella glacee. I have
two other FG shadows, camel and a gold so the four shadows and shimmer
tint are now all in a palette for one of my
fall looks.
Clothing and other purchases:
We spent a day in Santa Barbara. At Nordstrom I bought a great pair of
Ralph Lauren black slacks from the Maine highlights
collection. There are leather accents on the waistband and the side pockets
close with hidden zippers. It seems that I always
need a new pair of black slacks for fall and these will fill the bill. I
also bought a red tee at Nordstrom.
At Anthropologie I bought the long sleeve green tee with the buttons on the
shoulder. One of my daughters bought the
beautiful black and white striped sweater with the cowl neckline.
In SLO I bought a reversible skirt by Carol Anderson. One side is black
with hyacinths and the flip side is a black and lavender
geometric pattern. I also bought a split short sleeve scoop neck to go with
the skirt. At a boutique I found crystal earrings
in purple and lavender for this outfit.
My fun find was a knockoff of the H Stern earrings featured in the In Style
The Look magazine (Have you all seen the WTF
ad in this issue? It's with the pages of special advertisers) I figure the
difference of these multi–colored chandelier earrings
and the H Stern's should give me enough cofarb bucks to pay for the entire
trip.
My youngest child got a beautiful Tocca strapless black dress with pleating
on the bodice and an A line skirt at a great
boutique.

Welcome back, Audrey! I didn't expect to "see" you here for another week.
:) I love your finds, especially those earrings. I was there when Audrey
purchased them and I think they are gorgeous. I still haven't gotten my
InStyle Look issue, so I might just have to purchase it at the store. The
Tocca dress is so cute! I also loved that black one strap top she got from
Express. It reminds me of that top part of the dress Nicole Kidman wore to
the Oscars.

Ack! I am insanely jealous!! You probably got them at a little local boutique
and not some chain store, right? I want those earrings!
Welcome back, Audrey! Sounds like a fabulous trip from a shopping standpoint!

Laurie and Jennifer joined my daughters and me for a great day of shopping
and fun. There was a classic
car show in town and a fairly decent band that played classic oldies. My
daughter was going to return the
Express top, but when we were in Santa Barbara, I showed her a more
expensive one at Anthropologie.
It has a similar tie in the front. Now she knows it was a good buy even
though it is this fall's trend top.
Our shopping day fell on the sameday as Madonna's birthday and we ended the
day with scrumptious
desserts at the terribly kitsch Madonna Inn (no relation to the singer.
It's the last name of the owner.)
It was a fun day! I'm glad your daughter didn't return that black top!
