legaleaglev...@aol.com (Legal eagleview)
I will be alone in Vegas for 2 days before going to Zion and Bryce hiking.
I know all about the shopping...<grin>....Looking for great Sushi and/or Asian
food or any other great restaurants friendly to solo diners!

I (along with my two sister in laws) just had a great dinner at Spagos at the
Forum Shoppes. We all had a fish entree and we all agreed that they were
delicious.
I have read that Drai's restaurant (in one of the hotels on Las Vegas Blvd.) is
supposed to be wonderful.
My husband has eaten at Emeril's Seafood restaurant in the MGM Grand hotel, he
said the shrimp was very very good. May be tough to get a reservation there,
but you could give it a try.

I had one of the best, most elegant dinners of my life at Drai's about 3 or 4
years ago. Quite an experience. I couldn't wait to go again which I did last
year. It was terrible. The food was mediocre and the servce was non–existent.
Very expensive for such a disappointment.
However we had a wonderful dinner at Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris Hotel.
I highly recommend it.

oh no, sorry about that. Wonder what caused them to go down–hill.
Found this info. on a sushi restaurant named Osaka by googling, do not know the
address though:
"Osaka is also a five time winner of the "Best of Las Vegas" Award as voted by
the readers of the Las Vegas Review Journal.
Specializing in sushi made by former National sushi competition adjudicator in
Japan and award winning sushi chef, Shingo "Shin" Aihara. Our all Japanese crew
assists Shin in preparing over thirty different authentic appetizers.
Osaka has built its reputation by carrying only the finest fresh fish and its
ability to create a variety of rolls which satisfy even the most adventurous of
tastes. We also are proud to carry and serve the largest variety of fish of any
sushi bar in Las Vegas. Currently we are also serving such exotic delicacies,
normally only found in Japan, such as aojagi (live surf clams), sayori
(halfbeak), katsou (bonita), kanpachi (rudderfish) and Blue Fin Toro."

Nobu at the Hard Rock Hotel is really good. The sushi is overpriced, but
the other food is delicious! I've been there and to his Matsuhisa
restaurant in Beverly Hills. The Beverly Hills one is better, but Nobu in
LV is still great!
I always love the Grand Lux Cafe (same owners as Cheesecake Factory) at the
Venetian and I know you'd be treated well there. There's also a regular
Cheesecake Factory in the Forum Shops, but the wait would be shorter at
Grand Lux.
I always love Spago too <wave to Carol>.

DH and I eloped last year in Vegas. His buddy recommended we eat at Nero's
at Cesar's Palace. The lobster bisque was to die for. The rest of the meal
was delicious and when they found out we'd just gotten married, they brought
over the most beautiful cake with fresh flower garnish. Wine was devine and
the service was stellar. No sushi, but if you're in the neighborhood you
may want to check it out anyway :)

If you like steak, Gallaghers at the New York, New York hotel have the best
steaks in the world.

Sorry, I don't remember the name, but there is a great Saimin (Ramen) bar at
the Venetian – on the casino floor about 700 feet from the hotel elevators. It
is excellent. I love Asian food, and they were great, well priced, and very
relaxed and enjoyable. And you would definitely feel comfortable eating there
alone.

We ate at the steak restaurant in The Paris something like Mona Ame Gabbie.
Great service and great steaks!! The crab cake appetizers were heavenly!!
I love the mashed potatoes that came with the steaks too. Nice wine list
too and not too terrible expensive for the quality of food.
