I really need some advice on what coats are in fashion this season. Does
anyone know or can help please!!
I pretty much *collect* coats, always promising myself I won't add to my
collection because I have so many––and always failing miserably. Some of my
coats are vintage, either obviously old and funky or truly classic styles.
Others are acquired new because they offer something like lightweight warmth
(for outdoor sports) or are an irresistable color or...
You should consider what you want from a coat––something that will last for
years or just a one or two season fashion statement. I would also consider
your climate. Do you need to be outside a lot, walking or waiting for a
bus? If it's cold where you live, you would be a lot more comfortable in a
long coat. (Frostbite is never fashionable.) In and out of a car a lot? A
long, light–colored coat is going to drag in the slush...
Then I would look at magazines and clothing catalogs (online works for
this). Teen–oriented magazines will depict one approach; Vogue will show
another... SaksFifthAvenue.com, Bluefly.com., JCPenney.com., you get the
idea.
Now you've got me looking forward to coat season! Thanks.

1960s inspired coats are very big this season – that means funnel collars,
swirly day glo colors, or Op–Art prints. Problem with this is that it's
trendy and will be out of fashion next year but if you don't care, go ahead
and buy! Belted tweed coats are the other trend.
