eye of the beholder – cute aging story

"Marsan/McKinney" <mckjem....@verizon.net>
My Mom relayed this story to me and she (at 60) was obviously overjoyed!
I am going to visit my family in Florida next week and my sister (Jill) was
trying to explain to my six year–old niece, Julia (whom I haven't seen since
she was 6 months) how we were all related. That my sister and I were
sisters just like her and her sister, Christina – she barely comprehended
that. Then she tried to add in that Nana Ellen (her Grandmother and our
Mom) was the Mother of both us us, just like Jill was her Mom.
She did not get this at all, so Jill got out all the old photo albums and
tried to show her. She showed Julia a photo of us when my Mom was about 26
and we were about 6 & 5 – Julia's age. Jill commented that Grandma was so
pretty in the photo and Julia said "No – she looks much better now. That
does not look like my Grandma Ellen!"
My mom sent me an e–mail about it – she was humoured and very flattered.
It's great to know that there is always someone who thinks you are most
beautiful at your current age!
