Schick Intuition, 3 months later

Tracy Cramer <tlcrame...@yahoo.com>
Is anyone else still using this razor?
I still absolutely love it, but I'm tossing in the towel after this refill pack
is done. I've found that I'm buying a refill pack once every 2 weeks (the 3
pack). This means that I'm spending about $180 per year for smooth legs.
I like my legs smooth as much as the next person, but I have a real problem with
spending that much every year for just a *razor*. My DH spends about $20 a year
for shaving his face!
The Intuition hasn't completely replaced the regular Venus either, since I have
a difficult time getting a close shave on the insides of my thighs and bikini
line, and then I end up with razor burn.
I think I'm going to check out an epilator. I can handle the pain, since I
tweeze the hairs I miss on my knees, and I sure could handle the cost better.

I've not tried the Intution nor seen it in real life, but from the looks of
it in the ads, it seems like the solid soap–thingy would be useless after
it's been worn down a bit. How does it stay flush with the razor? Does it
work something like a Push–Up sherbet treat?
I use the Venus (I'm pretty loyal to Gillette products because I have done a
lot of work for the Gillette Company in the past), but I like my husband's
Mach III better. In hindsight, I would've bought my own Mach III and
skipped the Venus. As it is, I no longer buy Venus cartridges and use Mach
III cartridges instead. (Thanks to JennP for that tip –– despite my
"inside" knowledge of Gillette products, I was suckered into believing the
Venus only worked w/ its own cartridges.)

I still use it, ad I love it. I do go through the cartidges fast, and I think
keeping it in my gym bag deosn't help either. Do you hang it up from the
suction cups like they say you should? I think that would help.

Same here.

I do. I get at least three weeks use out of one cartridge.

I keep it in my locker at the gym. I find it's handy to use in the small
locker room shower stalls since I don't have to use lather or soap first as I
stand on one leg and attempt to shave.
But as a regular day–to–day razor for home use I'm not wild about it. For one
thing the handle is so smooth, there are not grooves or anything to make
grasping a smooth, wet piece of plastic easy.
So the thing tends to slip in my hand a little and I feel I've gotten more
nicks than usual using it. I also find I don't get as close of a shave as I do
with a regular razor, and this may also have to do with the poor grip.
I haven't bought refills yet and my jury is still out on whether I'll buy them
for gym use.

Ohhh, I helped another a.f.'er!! I'm so glad it's working out. Anything to
save a few $$$!

Yep, but it has not replaced my beloved Mach 3 (III?) I find I use the Intuition
for touchups and/or quickie shaves when I'm running late but can't have stubble.
Once a week or so I do a more "thorough" shave with the Mach 3 and Kiss Me
Moisture Shave.

Kinda, the razor drops to meet the level of the solid. I love this razor and
I get at least a 10–14 shaves from one cartridge. I hang it up and I don't
use it in the spray of the shower. I also run it backwards down my leg when
the solid gets to be too short to use effectively, and I get just as nice of
a shave. This is the only razor that I *can* skip a shave and not look like
bigfoot, all the others I have used, I had to shave every morning or Ech!
