Okay, I'm convinced, I have to wear sunscreen. I need something for my
face that won't make me greasier than I already am. I have tried the
Kiehl's Oil Free, which was okay but greasier than I'd like, the Peter
Thomas Roth Oil Free, which I ended up returning to Sephora because I
didn't like it, and have been using the Neutrogena SPF 30 Sheer. I
love it because it's very dry and I can't feel it on my face, but I
gather from reading another thread here that apparently it doesn't
work! Can anyone recommend anything that won't turn me into an oil
slick? I don't care if it's high–end or low–end, as long as it works.
Try the June Jacobs Micronized Sheer. They could use this stuff to clean
up oil spills. I think you can order a sample from WTF so you can try it
out before you buy a tube of it.
Martha, now my skin is too dry for it.

Paula's Choice oil–free is my fave, and I've been getting good results with
Ombrelle lately too. The June Jacobs sounds interesting too.

I really like Boscia's Oil–Free Daily Moisture SPF 15. (I think that's the name,
but they only make two sunscreen products and it's definitely the oil–free one.)
It's definitely matte, though you might need something with a higher SPF if
you're going to be in the sun for any length of time (in which case I second the
rec for the June Jacobs Micronized Sheer SPF 30, which on me is not quite as
matte as the Boscia, but not at all greasy, either).
You can get the Boscia stuff at WTF or at boscia.net

Thanks everyone for your recs – I think I'm going to check out the
June Jacobs, that sounds perfect.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Pola 1/f! It's perfectly matte as
well, sheer, oil–absorbing, works wonderfully as a makeup primer,
shields well, and pretty reasonably priced as well. And, again, you
can get it at wtf.

Martha, you can't even wear it with moisturizer underneath?
I never really thought of it as drying but then again I wear it in order
to stay matte (while blocking the sun, of course).

That boscia oil–free SPF rocks! It's so lightweight and matte. I often
carry a tube of it in my handbag.

1/f Suncut Milk, boscia oil–free and June Jacobs Micronized Sheer are my
three favorite sunscreens. June's is our best–seller because it's matte
and free of chemical sunscreens. Although it can appear white on medium
to dark skin tones, it also evens out your skin when you wear it alone
so it's almost like a "clear" makeup. boscia oil–free contains only
chemical sunscreens (octinoxate and avobenzone) so it's very lightweight
and matte. 1/f Suncut Milk has a mixture of chemical and physical
blocks. It has a stronger fragrance than the others and this can bother
some people (I find that it fades after a few minutes) but it's a happy
medium between JJ and boscia in texture. It stays matte and mixes very
well with foundations if you want to make a tinted sunscreen. HTH!
