Today's fashion faux pas

Give me money but don't look at my feet. This morning because it was so hot
I slipped on my Andre Assous striped
slides to go with the green top and khaki pants I wore for a few errands.
The slides are beige, green and orange.
In the early afternoon I drove to Tarjay with a letter requesting a gift
card or donation for my service group. I
originally planned to wear a David Dart linen skirt but it was too wrinkled;
at the last minute I put on an old standby
RL navy silk with white flowers and lots of green leaves to match the top,
jewelry. In my mind I was wearing
solid tan slides. Instead I wore striped shoes and a floral skirt. It
didn't even look trendy.
When I arrived at Target I was told they needed the tax ID number and then
could give me an on the spot donation.
I had to return home to add that to the letter, and, yes, the first thing I
did at home was to change my shoes.
I'd like to blame it on the heat
