I saw the August issue of British Vogue which also has a fantastic report on
Ibiza (where I'm going for my holiday). I love British Vogue. It is so much
better than US Vogue, from the quality of the paper to the types of stories
and the quality of the writing. Anyway on fall fashions, it seems the 80s
are back in some manner but not in a totally hideous way: black is in again,
jackets with zippers (a la Blondie) and cinched waists (Gucci's collection
is outstanding this year).
Classic fall clothes (i.e. tweeds and ladylike chic) are also back. Check
out the Prada and Burberry's collections. The 60s are also big this season:
Aline skirts and dresses, bold, geometric prints, dayglo colors especially
on pantyhose and tights (Marc Jacobs, I believe).
My favorite this year (and almost every year) is Calvin Klein. I don't know
why year after year Calvin Klein continues to produce the most beautiful,
simply dresses and suits. They just look great and without all that
ornamentation (zippers, belts, shirring, buckles, pockets, logos).
