Diane: Gorgeous! And your hair looks great. I am sorry that your were not
able to get in to see Monica, though (I least I hope you got my email?).
Were you married at Mt. Bonnell? The last wedding I went to for an
officemate was there and it was so nice.
thank you! no, I missed your email somehow. could you resend? things
got a bit hectic around that time, so I might have somehow overlooked
it, but I doubt it.
I didn't cut my hair, so I can't take credit for that, but thanks! I cut
Wally's hair, and actually, I also gave our Doctor of Divinity (he loves
that title; it was purchased for him from the Universal Life church) a
haircut also.
we married at the teahouse in Zilker Oriental Gardens. it was gorgeous.
muggy and hot, but still absolutely beautiful. we had a very very small
(immediate family only) ceremony, then spent the afternoon at a little
B&B where W's family was staying, then my brother took us all out to
dinner, and then W and I stayed at the San Jose Hotel (just 6 blocks
from our house, but so very different!), where they had scattered rose
petals all over our bedroom. it was really as wonderful as it could have
possibly been.
I feel incredibly lucky my father was able to be there that was the
very day I realized how sick he was as he had to pause every 5 steps or
so to get to the teahouse. I hadn't realized what a long walk it was,
since it was easy for me, but it was very, very hard for him. within a
week I became his caregiver, and a little over a month later he died.
still, he was there to give me away, and I now know what a sacrifice he
made for me. it's sad, but it makes the memory even more beautiful, too.
sorry to go off on a huge tangent, but a lot has happened in my life
this year. I'm still coming to terms with it all.
and I need another haircut! I think I will go back to Adam soon.
