GAP fall fashion – old stuff?

Esme Vos <e...@lemoncloud.com>
I saw the GAP fall stuff today on the Internet. Cords? Wasn't that last
season? They are running out of ideas.

they long ago ran out of good ideas. i think gap may have reached their
peak in the late 90s.

Gap had some very ecru summerweight cotton jean–style pants back in the
early '90s. I owned 2 pairs and wore them till they were literally falling
apart. I would give anything to have them reissued.... Wouldn't it be
great
if they kept this stuff catalogued so that you could special–order them or
something? Have been searching for eons for something that compares....
They
were kind of boy–cut, lean but not clingy.....sob.
Doomella, I like this idea; in fact, I don't mind seeing cords again as they
are perfect for fall
where I live. What happens though is that I don't even consider looking at
the GAP on line
or at the mall because it is too same old, same old. I can wear last year's
cords without
needing a new pair. They have changed corporate leadership but they haven't
found the
right person to bring them into this decade.

They replaced their CEO in October 2002. Undoubtedly a good idea.
Their comparables are improved this year, but when you had bad numbers
in 2002, that may not be much of an improvement.

They hit their peak in the early 90s with the BRIGHT colors and stripes. I hate
the gap now. its just khaki and brown crap you could find anywhere.
