It's the ones that pay $3000 for a pair of Air Jordans (even though
they ARE from 1985, and they ARE the rare green/black colorway) that
amaze me.

It's common knowledge that good deals are very rare on ebay.
That's the whole thing about auctions, buyers compete amongst
themselves rather than negotiate prices with the sellers.
Now the other thing is that the $3000 bids might be
vigilante bids. When ebay vigilantes identify a known ebay
scammer, they will visit all his/her auctions and post
outrageous bids in order to prevent anyone from being
victimized by the dishonest seller.
