Men's Suit Designers (help?)

"Buck The Trend" <buckthetr...@yahoos.com>
Are (Gianfranco) Ferre suits pretty respectable?
How about comparing Emanuel Ungaro versus Ferre??
I want to get a nice 3 button black suit for a formal affair..and to
eventually ware at my wedding.
However, I can't spend more than $500 max and this is what I have come up
with so far.
Thanks!

Because this is an *international* newsgroup, people can be posting
from anywhere in the world.

Nope...it's perfectly *on–topic* for this NG

Which don't mean anything to me...because I'm in the United Kingdom. Maybe
someone who is a bit more *local*, and who knows something about suits
should be able to help with your original questions.

Are (Gianfranco) Ferre suits pretty respectable?
Hey there. I am Italian and I can say that Ferre's suits are definitely
"pretty respectable". You can be sure of that. They're among the most loved
suits by suits–caring men, though they don't go far along with Valentino or
Armani.
How about comparing Emanuel Ungaro versus Ferre??
For what I can say, and living here, Ferre is way much loved than Ungaro.
You won't believe it but as I've been quite around Europe I can say that
Ungaro is more famous abroad than at home. You'll find more Ungaro boutiques
abroad than Ferre, maybe, but here it's not like that.

That would be good. Always nice to hear that people from anywhere in the
world prefer the Italian style (sometimes Italians get a little upset about
that) :–)
However, I can't spend more than $500 max and this is what I have come up
with so far.
Thanks!
There you go.

Thanks so much. And I appreciate everybody's advise on the topic, but I did
pick up the Ferre' today.
It looks great on me and appears to be very good quality, so I got it.
Your post just gives me additional leverage to feel good about my decision.
Thanks again!! Ryan
