Accessories

Here's the first of many questions: It's common knowledge that a man's
shoes and belt should match (easy with black, but more care needs to be
taken with brown because there are many different shades). However, what
about the wallet, briefcase/messenger bag, and watch (if wearing one with a
leather band)? I read once that these should definitely match the shoe/belt
combo, but others have said that trying to match these is CRAZY. I will
admit that having several different wallets, watches, and briefcases sounds
ridiculous, because of the several different shades of brown that there is.
Perhaps owning one "middle–of–the–road" brown of each would be more
appropriate (so then you'd only need two of each –– black and brown)? Or is
that still nuts? I'm curious what's "correct" in this regard. Of course,
this "problem" could be eliiminated by only owning one silver (or gold,
depending on your belt buckle and horsebit on shoe) watch, briefcase, and
money clip.) Which brings me to another question, is a silver watch
appropriate for business, or is one with a leather band considered more
formal? Thanks! Many more questions to come! ;)

They're both right :).

It depends on how you want to do it. I just wen't for the all black
leather look for shoes, briefcase, etc, the main problem for me being
things like eg. matching the metal trim on the brifcase to the metal
colour of the watch ("gold" vs. "silver"), belt buckle, etc.

I haven't the foggiest, but I would've assumed the other way around :).
