On Becoming a Male Fashion Model

cory...@yahoo.com (VacuumHead)
Hello,
I live on Long Island, east of Manhattan. I've been told in the past
that I have some important physical traits for possibly doing some
fashion modeling. I'm 24, white, 6'2", and 175 pounds. Tall and slim.
I'm not built like a pro athlete or a bodybuilder, but I'm fit and
athletic looking. Are there agencies in the NYC area (or better, Long
Island) that cater to guys like me? Just if anyone could help me out,
give me an outline of the whole "process" (headshots, etc) I would
greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Cory

All you need is a cover letter describing what kind of modeling work
you're looking for, and two photos: one headshot (be sure to show
your smile) and one full body shot that shows your physique (i.e. not
fully clothed). If you're serious about getting noticed then hire a
professional photographer for these shots. He or she will frame you
in the best possible way and in a decent setting.
Good looking guys, especially in NY are a dime a dozen, so you
need to know what your best attributes are, and make the most out
of them. If you're super good looking it won't take long for people
to find you. Start with established nationwide agencies (Ford, etc)
and a website if possible, and see if you get any responses, e.g.

Best of luck!
