Socks with Shorts

Never been to sure about this.
I prefer knee length shorts but do I wear socks with them?
If I wear socks pulled up properly only a few inches of bare skin is shown
which pretty much defeats the object of wearing shorts, i.e. to show your
legs. Besides it looks silly. I usually end up wearing socks deliberately
rolled down to my ankles which feels comfortable (not sure I like wearing
no socks at all) but tends to look slovenly.

I tend to wear the "trainer socks" one can buy these days .............they
are shorter than ankle socks and can only just be seen when worn with
trainers, they are very comfortable to wear........................ try them
and see. they are cheap to buy ...... I got some at Matalan 5 pair for
£3.00.

I've simply taken to wearing those knee–high socks from no–nonsense, rolled
down and cuffed near the ankle. simple, comfy and no one notices they're
stockings, sort of.

I like that idea. And if it gets very cold I could always roll them up a bit
to give my lower legs a bit of protection.
The no–socks–with–shorts purists may not approve but it's better than
having freezing cold legs in the middle of winter :)

Socks with shorts are fine in the winter, however, in the summer, I
would recommend open toe sandals with a professional pedicure and
colored nail polish on your toenails (red nail polish is best on the
toes). I get many complements from women on this look.

some knee–high white tube socks with the stripes around the top.

but in winter I like 'em just above the knee.
